Ana mantiene una larga relación con el arte vivo como bailarina, coreógrafa, docente, creadora y programadora. Estudió la Licenciatura en Comunicación Audiovisual en La Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, CDMX.
Su práctica artística está impulsada por la experimentación coreográfica, la ficción y el desafío a los límites convencionales del cuerpo y de la danza. Se expande y redefine constantemente en busca de soportes y lenguajes propios que transitan la indefinición entre la improvisación, la performance y las artes visuales.
Su trabajo adopta la forma de instalaciones multidisciplinares, creaciones site-specific; obras de vídeo y danza. Se ha mostrado en Nosenvera Arg, Djerassi Resident Artist Program SF California, Biennale Internationale Design Saint Étienne Francia, KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, Art Basel Miami,, Salmon Festival Barcelona, NCLAB Bogotá, Danza al Borde Chile, y en México en: Museo Jumex, MACO Art Fair, Material Art Fair Vernacular Institute, Centro Cultural de España CCE, Museo Experimental del Eco, Museo Tamayo, Museo Universitario del Chopo, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca y Centro de Cultura Digital CCD, entre los más destacados
Ana es fundadora de " El Entresuelo, lugar para el cuerpo y sus instintos", un espacio autónomo de producción, investigación y visibilización de prácticas escénicas y audiovisuales comprometidas con la búsqueda de nuevos lenguajes. Este proyecto es actualmente uno de los referentes más importantes de la escena under de la improvisación de movimiento,cdmx.
Interesada en la enseñanza, diseña laboratorios de investigación corporal y creación escénica. Es fundadora y docente de PERMENENTE, investigación corporal pedagógica escénico-performativa dirigida a la improvisación del movimiento.
Actualmente dirige FAUNA, Compañía de creación escénica formada por artistas multidisciplina que repiensan y pervierten el campo actual de lo escénico y las nociones de lo coreográfico.
Es fundadora de La Hervidera, colectivo de mujeres artistas dedicadas a la investigación sobre las posibilidades cognitivas de las artes. Actualmente realizan acciones arteducativas, proyectos de aprendizaje colaborativo, mediaciones experimentales y el programa radiofónico La Escuela Desobediente por la Radio Nopal.
Es miembro de la Red de Pedagogías Empáticas, organismo pluriversal dedicado a explorar las hibridaciones y los terrenos liminales entre las prácticas artísticas y educativas para el cambio social.
Actualmente es representada como artista por Galería Colector.
She is a choreographer, director, performer, teacher and cultural manager. She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, Mexico City.
Her artistic practice is driven by choreographic experimentation, challenging the limits of the body and fiction. It takes the form of multidisciplinary installations, site-specific creations, video works and dance.
Ana questions the edges and intersections between acts, bodies, environments, landscapes and the narratives written within them with the intention of altering and rewriting them.
She considers her body as a site of complex social history and political memory and questions the way it is used and symbolized on an individual level and in interaction with other bodies.
Her work as an artist has been shown at Nosenvera, Djerassi Resident Artist Program, Material Feria de Arte, Museo Jumex, MACO Art Fair, Biennale Internationale de Design Saint Éttiene, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Art Basel Miami, Salmon Festival, Festival Danza al Borde, NC-LAB, Vernacular Institute, Centro Cultural de España CCE, Museo Experimental del Eco, Museo Tamayo, Museo Universitario del Chopo, MACO OAXACA, and Centro de Cultura Digital CCD, among others.
Ana is the founder of "El Entresuelo, lugar para el cuerpo y sus instintos", an autonomous space for the production, research and visibility of scenic and audiovisual practices dedicated to the search for new languages. This project is currently one of the most important referents of the underscene of movement improvisation in Mexico City.
Interested in teaching, she designs laboratories for body research and creation. She is the founder and teacher of PERMENENTE, scenic-performative pedagogical body research directed to movement improvisation.
She currently directs FAUNA, a scenic creation company formed by multidisciplinary artists who rethink and pervert the edges of dance, the current field of the scenic and the notions of choreography.
She is the founder of La Hervidera, a collective of women artists dedicated to researching the cognitive possibilities of art. Currently, they carry out arteducative actions, collaborative learning projects, experimental mediations and the radio program La Escuela Desobediente on Radio Nopal.
She is a member of the Red de Pedagogías Empáticas, a living and pluriversal organization dedicated to exploring the hybridizations and liminal terrains between artistic and educational practices for social change.
